TechSaloniki, the landmark institution for the technology sector in Thessaloniki, this year celebrates ten years of dynamic presence, having established itself as the key focal point connecting the technological talent with the labor market.

On the occasion of the 2026 anniversary organization, which will take place on May 22 and 23 at the Port of Thessaloniki (Warehouses C, D and Museum of Photography), TechSaloniki proceeds – with the support of the Hellenic Association of Information Technology Enterprises and the Alexandrer Innovation Zone, as well as with the scientific contribution of Deloitte – to a systematic assessment and mapping of the digital and technological ecosystem of Northern Greece.

The purpose of this initiative is to assess companies, which are active in the field of Information and Communication Technologies at a local and not only level, with particular focus on software and digital development services. The process aims to map the range of activities, the human resources, the development prospects but also the needs of the companies, whilst highlighting the sector’s practitioners’ perspective. Moreover, with the Deloitte’s scientific support, for the first time, an in-depth assessment of the economic impact of the technology sector in the region will be undertaken, highlighting its contribution to the economy’s growth and competitiveness.

Goals and Expected Benefits

  • A systematic mapping of the structure, size, and maturity degree of the technological ecosystem of Northern Greece.
  • Develop a reliable database that will support the strategic planning of policies and initiatives aimed at strengthening the sector.
  • Identifying challenges, needs, and opportunities for growth that will help create a more favorable environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Strengthening the links between businesses and ecosystem stakeholders, with the aim of fostering new partnerships and synergies.

It is worth noting that the responsiveness and active participation of companies in the sector are critical for the completeness and the reliability of this initiative. The research questionnaire will be sent to the companies, and the TechSaloniki team will also reach out to them directly. In the meantime companies can gain direct access to the questionnaire also through the following 👉 link

The findings of the assessment and mapping, will be presented during the anniversary TechSaloniki event in May 2026 and are expected to integrate a valuable tool that seek to better understand the sector’s dynamics and to contribute in highlighting the growth and cooperation opportunities within the region’s technology ecosystem.
