Memorandum of Understanding of AIZ

 

With research and support entities of innovative entrepreneurship

 

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between Alexander Innovation Zone and nineteen (19) research bodies and innovative Thessaloniki entrepreneurship support bodies (Aristotle University, University of Macedonia, International Hellenic University – Sindos Campus, International Hellenic University – Thermi Campus, CERTH, Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food / Hellenic Agricultural Organization “Dimitra”, Hellenic Institute of Metrology, Technopolis, Incubator i4G, Thermi Incubator, Technology Park Management Company, SEPVE, SEVE (Greek Exporters Association), Greek-Turkish Chamber of Northern Greece, Municipality of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Consulate of Estonia in Northern Greece, American School of Agriculture and TEE / TKM), Hellenic Industrial Property Organization, National Bank of Greece S.A. (NBG Business Seeds)Elevate Greece S.A. – National Startup Point, OK!Thess, KEMEL (Centre for Volunteer Managers of Greece), contribute to Thessaloniki’s effort to become a center of innovation and entrepreneurship in the wider area of ​​Southeastern Europe.

There is a significant combination of educational, research and technological-business units and infrastructure in Thessaloniki, which can be the biggest advantage of the city. The Memorandum confirms the intention of the institutions to mobilize under the umbrella of AIZ for realizing the vision to make Thessaloniki and the wider region a center of innovation and entrepreneurship with an international scope.

Added value of the Memoranda with AIZ

Memoranda of Understanding signed by AIZ focus on four main areas of cooperation:
Branding

Promoting its identity (branding) at an international level.

Clustering

Targeted interconnection between research and entrepreneurship (clustering) in areas with critical mass of research and business interrest.

Startups

Creation of  an innovation flow through Startup companies.

Support Tools

Optimal utilization or/and creation of new financial/support instruments for companies that transform research results into products that can be sold in the international market.
