Value proposition
The creation of a sustainable agri-food hub, which will constitute a bridge of cooperation between Universities/Research Centres, Enterprises and Producers, based on the triptych of modernisation, production of added value and export potential, through the practical support of the creation of innovative products and services.
The Project aims at the reuse and bioclimatic upgrading of the existing building inventory, contributing to the reduction of the energy footprint and the adoption of a circular economy model. More broadly, the Thess InnoFood Hub endeavours to foster a sustainable culture of resilient and sustainable development by promoting innovation towards a vibrant agri-food sector that respects environmental commitments and integrating new technologies.

Key facts
The land plot, located in the boundaries of the Thessaloniki Innovation Zone, was granted to AIZ following the Decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, for the creation of an agrofood innovation hub.
An area of 60.000m2 will be under the jurisdiction of AIZ for 25 years, while the Company holds the right to renew the concession agreement for another 10 years(2049), by Decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food (2184/108826/01-09-2014, ΑΔΑ ΒΧ68Β-Ε6Δ).
Comprises 10 buildings which were constructed during the period 1950-1960.
