column_border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221; bg_image_animation=&#8221;none&#8221;][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;none&#8221;]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AIZ organizes a series of webinars that have a dual purpose: on the one hand to <strong>enhance Digital Literacy for the elderly<\/strong> and on the other hand to<strong> inspire intelligent start-ups<\/strong> to create technologically innovative products and services tailored to the needs of the elderly. <span class=\"veryhardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"6vitv-2-0\">By observing the digital behaviour of senior citizens during this cycle of webinars, young entrepreneurs have the opportunity to listen to their needs and come up with innovative solutions<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"6vitv-3-0\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Webinars entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Youngsters Teach Grandparents Digital Skills&#8221;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> started in October 2020 and are co-organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thessinnozone.gr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander Innovation Zone SA<\/a>. and the Macedonia-Thrace Branch of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.epy-mathra.gr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greek Computer Society (EPY), Macedonia-Thrace Chapter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. All webinars are offered completely <strong>free<\/strong> of charge!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The innovation of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Youngsters Teach Grandparents Digital Skills&#8221; initiative <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lies both in its dual goal and the original way in which elderly people are educated. More specifically, grandparents sit in front of the computer with their grandchildren or nieces, who act as trainers&#8217; assistants. Respectively, their two teachers also belong to different generations: one teacher and one student.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 1st Webinar entitled <strong>&#8220;<i>Youngsters Teach Grandparents CODING<\/i>&#8220;<\/strong> took place on Saturday, October 17, 2020, as part of the celebration of EU Code Week 2020. Grandparents in pairs with their grandchildren or nieces sat at their computer and with the help of their trainers, <a href=\"https:\/\/gr.linkedin.com\/in\/theodouli\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Theodouli (Lia) Terzidou<\/a>, Code week Ambassador in Greece-CS Teacher and <strong>Petros Tsiombanis<\/strong>, a high school student, were trained and learned not only how to use the Zoom distance learning platform but also wrote their first lines of code in a fun, playful way at <a href=\"http:\/\/code.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">code.org<\/a><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_padding=&#8221;no-extra-padding&#8221;
