Alexander Innovation Zone is delighted to announce the signing of the programmatic agreement and the official launch of the Carbon Footprint Office in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace!
The project is implemented by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace under the leadership of Regional Governor Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis, in collaboration with:
🔹 The Interbalkan Environment Center (i-BEC), with scientific director Dr. George Zalidis, Emeritus Professor of AUTH.
🔹 The Alexander Innovation Zone S.A., with Chairman of the Board Dr. Prof. Panayiotis KETIKIDIS, BSc, MSc, Ph.D.
The aim is to build a dynamic ecosystem around carbon farming, connecting public bodies, research institutions, the private sector, and civil society.
Key pillars of the project include:
✅ Mapping of stakeholders in the agri-food chain
✅ Establishment of a Stakeholder Network and development of a joint action plan
✅ Designation of a demonstration site in Philippi Peatlands (Tenagi Philippon) following the Living Lab model of co-creation
✅ Alignment with the green development strategy of the Region
