The law 3489/2006 also established the public limited company “Alexander Zone of Innovation S.A.”, with the Greek Public Sector as the initial shareholder and the possibility of a gradual participation of shareholders from the private sector; its mission will be the management and development of the T.I.Z.
The company has been in operation since August 2007, supervised by the Ministry of Development Competitiveness and Shipping.

The composition of the new Board (established in Lyly 2010) of the "Alexander Zone of Innovation S.A.", includes representatives from the academia, the private productive and financial sector, the local authorities and a representative of a similar body from abroad. Thus it can guarantee the effective connection between research and industry for the local development:
